Chuck joined Poplar Springs staff in December of 1992. He is a graduate of Johnson Bible College and Wake Forest University. Chuck and his wife, Christy, have two sons, Samuel and Elijah. Chuck loves to read anything by Steve Lawhead and Bernard Cornwell. He enjoys coaching his sons in soccer, going out on date nights with Christy, and traveling with the entire family. Chuck loves to preach and teach and see people come to a right relationship with Jesus.
Don is a 1986 graduate of Johnson University and joined the staff of Poplar Springs the same year. Don and Jane are the proud parents of Elise and Tyler and the really proud grandparents of Zeke and Lucy. Don currently serves as Associate pastor where he overseas pastoral care and life groups/discipleship.
Besides loving the ministry and his family, Don loves getting away on occasion to fish and hunt. He enjoys communing with God’s awesome creation and matching wits with the animals God has put here for our benefit.
Jonjo Evans is a musician and a carpenter, he is married to Jennifer Deming Evans. Their most notable achievements are their children: Rider, who has recently taken a Design Academy Position with Adidas in Germany, and Haney who is a professional Make Up Artist in Manhattan.
Jonjo and Jennifer now reside in Winston-Salem with their dog Groovy. They currently own and operate The Roller Mill Events, a newly refurbished grain mill that was built in 1935 and now operates as an events venue for Weddings, Corporate Events, Parties and the like.
Zach arrived at Poplar Springs in June 2016 and is married to Sydney. Zach is a graduate of Milligan College and is currently pursuing his Masters through Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. As Student Minister at Poplar Springs, Zach’s primary responsibility is to hang with, teach, shepherd, and disciple middle school, high school, and college age students. He loves to read history and theology, and play any pick-up sport. Zach is passionate about the “gospel of the grace of God” and reaching those who haven’t heard with that news.
Megan is a Stokes County native. She graduated from West Stokes in 2007. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently enrolled at Piedmont International University, earning a degree in Christian Ministry with minors in Children’s and Youth Ministry. Megan and her husband, Brad, have been members of Poplar Springs since their engagement in 2013. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, watch sports and HGTV. Megan has a passion for children and their growth to become followers of Jesus.
Jennifer attended Johnson Bible College in 2004. She came on board with us in July of 2015. Her passion for music, helping others, and serving the Lord is what drives her to be the person she is today. She grew up in the small town of King and is currently living in Pilot Mountain with her family. She is married to Michael Hopkins and has two children; Isaiah and Oliver. When she isn’t in the office she like to spend her time reading, taking care of her many animals, or having fun with her kids.
